iPod Touch Torn Down - Massive Battery, No Vibrator?

Apple, what’s going on? First, we get pictures from the FCC of the 4th gen iPod Touch torn down with a vibrating feature but now iFixit claims that it doesn’t have one? Well, let’s move on from that enigma and talk about some cosmetic changes that iFixit has specifically noted: there is now a speaker grille next to the dock connector and headphone jack.

The retina display is of the same resolution and pixel density of the iPhone 4 yet it isn’t an IPS display. The front facing VGA camera is paired with a 0.7 megapixel rear camera that somehow shoots 720p HD video while the hole next to the rear camera is now a microphone instead of an LED flash. A 3.44 Watt-hour battery is soldered to the logic board. And it’s extremely hard to repair, ranking 4 out of 10 on the iFixit repairability scale. The iPod Touch ladies and gentlemen.
