Japan creates mind-controlled cat ears -- it begins

Technology to control things with your mind has so many astounding real world possibilities, however in Japan they use it to create some of the weirdest fetishes known to man. For instance, here’s what a new prototype made by Neurowear looks like; a pair of cat ears that bend to your will with nothing but the power of your mind.
My whole questions is: who would actually wear these outside in public? There are some pretty intense cosplayers but I don’t mean using these during a con. Would anyone don these while on a train? I can sense if weeaboos (or Japanese obsessionists) got a hold of these then we’d see the social outcasts from colleges definitely using a pair of these to attract possible mates.
