Microsoft holding two Xbox press events at E3

Microsoft really thinks they’ve got something with Project Natal. So much so that they’re going to be holding two press events at this year’s E3. No, not two press conferences - they’ve made it clear that’s not what it’s going to be:

“As you may have heard, our traditional news briefing is on the morning of Monday, June 14. Additionally, as a kick off to the week, we will be hosting a can’t-miss exclusive “Project Natal” World Premiere experience designed for all ages and demonstrating the universal appeal of Xbox 360 on Sunday evening.

“We’ll have more details on both events and additional media opportunities for Xbox 360 at E3 in the coming months, but wanted to get the word out now as you make your plans.”

Think Xbox’s putting too many eggs into one basket? I would hate for them to fall flat on their face with this new controller-less technology. I mean, there’s just so much potential into concepts like voice commands, gesture based movements, and facial recognition that it makes Natal so much more than just a gaming experience. Which has me thinking, Microsft has definitely invested WAY more into this than Sony has with their Move motion controller. It’s going to be an exciting event this year for sure! If last year’s E3 was the trailers before the movie, than this year will be the full length feature film.
