Microsoft Hopping into the Internet TV Market

Reports are flying in from Reuters that Microsoft is getting ready to compete with Apple TV and other cable companies with its Xbox platform. Apparently, behind closed door deals are being made at the moment to bring cable tv to the Xbox 360, although it could be a while until it actually hits homes.

Despite the possible year that it may take to get all of the contracts sorted and what not, the Xbox 360 seems like it could be a huge contender in this market as its already gotten some sweet deals with ESPN and Netflix. This should not be taken lightly. Xbox, being one of the best selling consoles in the world has millions of users at Microsoft’s disposal, and most of these users already have the Xbox Live service, so it only makes since that if it’s ripe for picking, then Microsoft just needs to go ahead and offer some sort of cable package and people will never be off of their 360’s. Just don’t fudge this one up MS!
