Milk announces their new App "Oink"
If you haven’t heard, Kevin Rose and his San Francisco web bandits have started a new company called Milk where they plan to create in-house apps for iOS and soon Android. The interesting thing is that each app will apperently be incubated by Milk (interesting and wierd… like Milk from a mother to it’s young) for a short while until it can self-sustaining, and maybe become it’s own company. Oink is the first of Milk’s lineup.
Not much is known about Oink other than a few hints from Kevin Rose (which are too vauge to mention) but the overall concept is going to be “social”. We’re thinking it could be a simple platform for people to share, rank and then vote on real world places and events to help find the best eat, shop and play. The app could also tie into services like Gowalla or Foursquare so you can find these places, or it could have location services built in. Nothing has been detailed yet, but we’re waiting to see if Milk can take their new app, Oink, to the top.
