Music Monday - Director Edition: Colin Tilley

Does anyone really know the man behind the camera - Everyone has seen music videos on MTV, VH1, and the almighty internet, but does anyone really know who makes the videos? For movies we know of people like Steven Spielberg and Spike Lee, but what about guys like Colin Tilley? The people who make those memorable and unique art pieces (you may know as music videos) that mesh with your favorite beats. Colin Tilley is one of the biggest and baddest music video directors/editors out there right now - you’ve probably seen his work, but you don’t even know it yet…

Colin Tilley was born in Berkeley California in June of ‘88. Growing up he was around many other bay area artists like The Pack, The Cataracs, and many more creative minds among the Oakland rappers.

He first started messing around on his handy cam only a few years ago but has since, finely tuned his skills to a creative extreme. Tilley has come a long way since his first music videos, which were like anybody’s first music videos. Later on, he started to work for Riveting Entertainment in L.A. which has set him up for tremendous opportunities. Tilley is now working with artist like Jessie James, Chris Brown, Usher, and some other british bands.

Colin recently did some new music videos for American and Canadian sensation Justin Bieber. The kid who can break 3 year old hearts, has become a phenomenon in the states, and has started to need Music videos, so Colin came to the rescue directing the “Never let you go” music video.

With the recent video release of DEUCES by Chris Brown and Tyga, Tilley is climbing to the top, fast! This Berkeley boy is becoming the most talked about Director in the nation, and he is showing no signs of stopping.

Tilley is just getting started with his creative music videos, with his editing skills helping him edit videos like My Chick Bad and My Chick Bad Remix. The future looks very bright for this director and he promises there will be more cool stuff on its way soon!
