New 2010 Mac Mini is available now!

Its smaller? Yes, much smaller and it has lots more to offer - and even though the Mac Mini is Apples “hobby”, they seemed to have given it some much needed love. It is sporting a new proccessor, a giant 500GB hard drive and a whole new structure that is super sexy. If you every wanted the ultimate media center, you have found it (for a pretty fair price)…

What do we think of it?

If your looking for the ultimate home media center, this will do a slightly better job than the previous Mac Mini (which was absolutely perfect to begin with), and its tiny size will let you dump it in your backpack to take to a friends house and enjoy everything on the big-screen.

Also, if your looking to set up a small server to host a website, or add a much needed backbone to your online business, Mac Mini also comes in a server configuration which features Snow Leopard Server and two 500GB HDD’s which is epic. A major upside is that the bottom twists off to expose the guts, but it is a circular hole, so that sort of makes no sense, but it looks pretty cool..

Some of the downsides are that the power button is still on the back, and the server model has no disk drive, which shouldn’t be a problem, but having the new Mini aimed at a consumer audience makes me think otherwise. Having the power brink inside the Mini, could cause some heat issues but we’re sure that Apple has that all worked out.

All in all, the Mac Mini has just become even more irresistible to multi-media junkies and creative folks on-the-go - and personally I see no reason not to seriously think about getting one as a media center, or a casual home computer that can be moved around.
