Playstation controls found in Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) SDK

Shortly after Google released the SDK for Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) early this morning, developers the world over are claiming that they’ve spotted code that deals directly with Sony’s Zeus Z1 aka, the PlayStation Phone. More specifically, they’ve been spotting code that deals with the button layout for Sony controllers. The discovery of said code supports what we’ve seen so far of the PlayStation Phone — i.e. similar clam shell and design to the PSP Go.

Digging through the code developers have stated that the most prolific finds make reference to the L1, L2, R1, and R2 triggers commonly found on all iterations of the Playstation. Sony’s yet to officially announce their PlayStation Phone, however from what we’ve seen it looks as though its shaping up to be a decent handset / portable media and gaming player.
