Apple confirms Siri won't be ported to older iDevices

Apple has recently confirmed to a developer of its iOS platform that it has “no plans” to bring Siri, the highly intuitive voice controlled personal assistant software available on its most recent iPhone (the iPhone 4S), to any older devices. Unfortunately it doesn’t come as much of a shock, sources close to the company originally reported that a port of Siri was slim at best, yet those of us with an iPhone 4 or iPad 2 were still hoping for an optimistic outcome. OmniTouch is Microsoft's projector based touch computer

In recent years Microsoft has been at the forefront of innovation in the tech game - you really only have to look as far as the Kinect for Xbox 360, or the overly impressive Courier to see what they’re capable of - continuing on with this trend, the Redmond based computer conglomerate has presented two very interesting touch based systems at the UI symposium, UIST 2012. The first project, OmniTouch, which in my opinion is certainly more sci-fi than its brethren, aims to turn any and all surfaces into a touch-enabled space. — More after the break!

A recent study issued by Retrevo claims that many consumers would favour an Amazon branded tablet should one arrive. According to the study, Retrevo found that many consumers are interested in cheaper tablet options, and if a viable alternative to Apple’s market dominating iPad were to come about, it could very well be a serious competitor.
