Rumor -- Project Cafe will officially be called "Nintendo"

If you grew up in the late 80’s and early 90’s you might remember the NES, not by its official name; the Nintendo Entertainment System, but more than likely as simply “the Nintendo”. Well, it looks like we might come back to that time full circle, as the latest rumors surfacing the internet is that Project Cafe, or the Big N’s next gen console, will be dubbed simply “Nintendo”.
It’s a ballsy move for sure, but if there’s anything that Nintendo knows how to do, it’s being different from the crowd. GameInformer ran with an opinion piece earlier yesterday about the possibility of the next big Nintendo system taking on the company’s name. Not much of a rumor, but it still is a very likely candidate for the new device’s name seeing as the modern home console era all began with Nintendo in the mid 1980’s. To remind everywhere about their roots, bringing gaming as whole back full circle might be their whole plan all along, but I suppose we won’t know for sure until Tuesday morning’s press conference when Project Cafe and all its wild rumors are finally showcased for the world to see.
