Sony Ericsson Anzu (Xperia X12) Given Hands On Preview

This certainly isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Sony Ericsson Anzu leaked but it is the first time we’ve seen it detailed so carefully. We also know now that this will not be a Gingerbread flagship as previously thought. This 854 x 480 4.3” superbeast will run stock Android 2.2 Froyo at launch but will be updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread shortly after.
As for the prototype unit you see above, it’s only running Android 2.1 at the moment. This new Droid X/EVO 4G competitor is powered by an 800 Mhz Qualcomm MSM7230 “Scorpion” compared to the 1 Ghz QSD8250 Snapdragon in the X10 (a good thing for battery life and graphical elements).
A slick 12 megapixel shooter labeled “HD” does 720p video as expected. As for the device itself, it will be thinner, lighter, and bigger than its predecessor while a similar glossy 3 button styling will be used. Want to read more about this upcoming device?
