The 5 Best Alternatives to the iPhone 4

So, you’ve tried to ignore the hype about the iPhone 4, and resisted many urges to purchase one. Admit it, you’re not an Apple fan-boy - and your damn proud. We’ve blogged about every smartphone under the sun, and we’ve enjoyed most of them, but there are a few that just hit a sweet spot. I’ve taken some time and compiled a simple list of the 5 best smartphones you can purchase today — and just for you, I’m excluding the iPhone 4. Here ya go!

Samsung Captivate

Sporting a speedy 1 GHz processor, 4 inch AMOLED screen and 16GB of internal storage makes this one of the best Android phones on the market. It supports Bluetooth 3.0, and comes with support for a 32GB memory card out of the box. Also the display has been dubbed “only second” to the iPhone 4.

Motorola DROID X

The DROID X comes in with a hefty 4.3 inch screen, 8MP camera and up to 8 hours of battery life. It also sports Android 2.1 with 720p video playback and a 16GB memory card pre-installed. This is a great choice for folks who need a giant screen.

HTC DROID Incredible

Featuring Android 2.1 with HTC’s “Sense” UI matched with a beautiful 3.7-inch AMOLED screen and a 8MP camera got this gadget some major street cred on release. Also, 5 Hours of talk time and support for a 32GB memory card come standard.

HTC EVO 4G

Yet another phone with a giant 4.3 inch screen, the HTC EVO comes in with a 8MP camera, 8GB memory card included and that gorgeous HTC “Sense” UI. It’s running Android 2.1, and has about the same specs as the DROID X, but it gets some extra razzle dazzle from it’s exclusive 4G data support.

BlackBerry Bold 9700

Sporting a spiffy 480 X 360 display, 3.2 MP camera and 6 hours of talk time makes this a pretty solid device for business guys and urban yuppies alike. Packing version 5.0 of BlackBerry’s handheld Software (much like the Storm) makes this a great addition to your corporate arsenal.
