Twitter Instant Search is here, and it rocks
Instant search has been a gigantic hit with the masses, starting with Google Instant, then Youtube Instant, then iTunes instant — and now Twitter Instant. This latest edition to the instant family was created by Matthias Schneider, a German developer who seems to like Twitter enough to create an instant search client for it.
The functionaliaty is simple (which it should be), and fast… insanely fast. It is so awesome to be able to quickly buzz through anything that you think may be going on — let’s say Youtube is down and you want to see if other people are having the same issue — head over to Twitter Instant and shoot in a search and watch the results pop into view.
It also has auto suggestions, avatars and the links work just fine. We were expecting to be able to click on the timestamp, and be taken to the original tweet — but the usernames and avatars link to the appropriate accounts, and that’s good enough. Great work!
