Video: LG Remarq eco-friendly mobile phone

Carbon free, recycled materials, eco-friendly where does it all end? All of these are clearly questions posed by LG’s engineering team whilst hard at work developing the Remarq.  Announced this week at CTIA this pint-sized pygmy of a mobile phone attempts to captivate those interested in doing their part for the environment. Made out of 19% recycled plastic the device is in itself a marvel, however adding to the green equation LG’s opted to ship the Remarq in packaging created out of 87% recycled materials. If that isn’t truly mindboggling, the sheer satisfaction of owning what is quite possibly the smallest portrait QWERTY slider available might just be. Despite the overall “squarish” look of the device, Engadget’s Sean Cooper noted that the screen and display “are very well done.”
