VLC media player for iOS finds its way onto Cydia

Now that didn’t take too long now did it? After being booted off Apple’s official app store, despite being on it for months, VLC media player for iOS devices has found a new home: Cydia.

Just follow the directions given by VLC’s iOS developer Ryan Petrich (originally posted on his Twitter account) — Located Here — and learn how to get VLC media player on any jailbroken iOS device.

What really gets me is Apple’s inconsistent management of the App Store; they deny great concepts all the time, then on other occasions they approve and remove on the same day. And the greatest of insults occurs when Apple decides to approve an app, let it stay on their virtual shelves for months until one day they decide they no longer want it. That last scenario is exactly what transpired with VLC media player, coincidentally just a couple of days after the launch of the App Store for Mac.
