Cellphone inventor Marty Cooper uses a Motorola Droid

Cellphones have become a way of life, many feel lost without them, but have you ever stopped and wondered what device the inventor of the modern cellphone uses? During Marty Cooper’s interview with C-SPAN he stated that he’d previously used an iPhone, however in lieu of recent times he opted to join the Android bandwagon. Now using a Motorola Droid, Marty stated that the main reason for his big switch was to simply familiarise himself with the Android operating system.

Video: HTC Touch Pro2 gets rehashed, now runs Android

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen Android running on a Touch Pro2, however, this time we’re more impressed than we’ve ever been. Courtesy of the guys behind the XDAndroid project we’re graced with a newer Android ROM. The overall user experience appears to be far greater than that of previous builds, but more importantly your handset will actually be able to make phone calls, send and receive text messages and emails, as well as browse the web. There are still several limitations i.e. lack of Bluetooth support, GPS and “other key functions”, but hey, not bad for a device that was never intended to run Android.

Plasma Speaker - No actual speakers needed, just lots of electricity

This chunk of wood with nails in it has the same capabilities as a speaker - sounds to good to be true right? Well it is true and it is utterly awesome! A plasma speaker is a device that generates a super high voltage electrical arc that makes purple light and has the ability to produce sound, or in this case music. The only audio equipment needed is an audio source like an iPod or in this case a CD player, and the electricity does the rest of the work, vibrating in the air and producing sound.

EA hints at Dragon Age 2 release date

Despite the cornucopia of downloadable content and expansion packs being released for BioWare's Dragon Age, it seems that EA seems ready to usher in a new era with Dragon Age 2. Various sites are now reporting that retail copies of Dragon Age: Awakening include an intriguing placard.

The card simply shows a dragon with the date "02.01.2011" plastered on it. EA has already confirmed that a sequel will be launching between January and March of 2011; February 1 also happens to be a Tuesday, a day in which games are normally released.

While this isn't an official announcement by any means, it's as close as your going to get. You might want to go ahead and just request off from work that day in advance.

Video - Unlimited Detail - Gaming is going to change, forever

Every year, the amount of polygons a PC can render increases by 22% -  and it is currently an endless battle to be on top. ATI and Nvidia are fighting to own the gaming market, and the single most important thing they focus on, the main goal, is the amount of Polygons they can fit on your screen. Unlimited Detail is going to change that because what they can do is un-cap the limitations of current hardware and re-work the way computers handle geometry.
