Square Bank account Information Scare

Square Bank account Information Scare

Square is that snazzy new system for your iPhone and iPad that allows you take credit card payments from anyone, and just days before launch there has been a security scare.

Emails were sent out suggesting that users had changed their bank account information, and Square was emailing to let them know that the new account was verified. The only problem was that the users did not change a thing, which scared everyone - Read more

Gizmodo Leaks new Apple Employee - Video

After the iPhone 4 uproar, Gizmodo has the guts to leak out a new Apple employee - and it is done in much better taste. The guy who leaked this is (in the video) Greg Lowen, has decided to put a different spin on this leak. Instead of posting information about the people involved, and destroying their corporate future, and telling everyone to visit their Twitter, Flickr and Facebook accounts, he decided to stick to the product. What Gizmodo did with the iPhone 4 leak was completely uncalled for, and this is in much better taste - sticking to the actual product, thats all we wanted to know with the iPhone 4 leak! - video after the break!

The iPad in your car modification

So you have a GPS installed in your car and you think your hot stuff huh?

Well, you ain’t nothing unless you got a full fledged iPad cradled on your dashboard, ready for iPod, navigation, and Plants vs. Zombies use!

Alright, so it may not be the most practical thing every conceived but it may just be the coolest thing I’ve seen with an iPad yet.

World of Warcraft on the Apple iPad

This is a major c-c-combo breaker, real gaming on the iPad? - It sounds like it isn’t possible, but it is, with the help of a gaming service called Gaikai which lets you play games in your browser, directly from the cloud. Gaikai runs the games on its own servers, and then streams the visuals to the player using just a web-browser with the help of Java, Flash or Silverlight.

Now even though the iPad can’t run Flash, or Silverlight, the guy holding this iPad (above) was able to get it working, somehow. There is no video to prove it, and thus it could just simply be a screenshot from a PC, stored in the camera roll on the iPad and then displayed on the screen. All that aside, it is interesting to think that one day (very soon) it will be possible to play hardware intensive games, on lightweight devices using a service like Gaikai.

Halo Reach Beta: Server Down!

Halo Reach Beta: Server Down!

Today was the official release of the Halo Reach Beta and there are already major problems. Unfortunately the server is crashing and not allowing many people online to play. Another big factor is that so many people tried to download the beta when they got home from school.

Bungie has posted on their website that they are working on fixing the problem very soon-Read More

Tech Heaven event sports Mind Reading tech

If you thought 3DTV’s were the future then you haven’t seen anything yet.

Enter Tech Heaven; an Intel event recently held in New York that displays the latest in what technology can do - and you’d be surprised that mind reading somehow finds its way into that list.

Rendering 3D images using basic photography is the starting point, but when they show off a mobile system of fact-chekcing using dependable information sites to know when someone saying “b.s.” in a random conversation, well… that’s just plain awesome.

Oh, and mind reading.

How to make CSS3 work in Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer has had web developers shaking their fists for years - and it has been a real struggle for me - @itsbrandond - to keep T3ch H3lp current, up-to-date, and using the latest web technologies including CSS3. Unfortunately, every version of Internet Explorer fails to support any of the new emerging web standards that allow us to make websites faster, more intuitive and fun to use.

Finally, Smashing Magazine has come up with a vast array of solutions for implementing different CSS3 elements like border radius, box shadow and gradients to be compatible with Internet Explorer. All hope is not lost, and you can start developing again!
