Interesting look into Imagining the iPad café

Accomplished Journalist @MarkMilian has decided to imagine the experience with an iPad in a Cafe - and in such a small article, and for how simple it is, it really does open some ends of thought. It simply goes through the motions of using an iPad in a coffee shop, but raises a few ideas - one of which is “what if more cafés had iPad users in them?” - What would that be like? They would be there for a different purpose of course, maybe not to write a report, or work on their novel, but they would most likely be less stressed, working on smaller tasks. The interesting part that Mark mentions is that “What if cafés offered iPad keyboards for a small amount of change added to the price of your coffee?” I dig that…

Terminator's are working for Microsoft

So what exactly does Skynet do when they’re not busy preventing the existence of John Connor? Well, isn’t it obvious? They do Microsoft’s bidding!

I mean think about it! What brings people joy? Macbooks, iPods, and more recently. Alright, now think of what brings people more dread than anything in the entire world? The answer’s simple: Windows! The connection between heartless machines and a frustrating Operating System is nearly unnecessary to make. Though, personally, I’ve never had any big issues Windows and I’m a life long PC guy, but I love jumping on the Windows hate bandwagon because I feel like I’m a part of something.

What happened to Microsoft? What MS should learn from Apple

This story is the brainchild of two heavyweight tech journalists, John C. Dvorak and Paul Thurrott - and is aimed at outlining the well being of Microsoft as a company. Paul’s view of the story is based on the view of what Microsoft can learn from the iPad, and why Microsoft needs to start focusing on selling an experience rather than a product. John’s part of the story is focused on the outlying fact that Microsoft is not a “Buzz machine” anymore, and now has become a money hoarding, behemoth of boring technoligies, and recycled ideas.

Ellen makes fun of the iPhone - Required to Apologize

This is a nice, funny video of Ellen making fun of the iPhone and showing some honest mistakes that people make when first using it. Unfortunately, Apple has absolutely no sense of humor, and asked Ellen to apologize!

C’mon Apple! Have some sense of humor, and laugh along, don’t be a bunch of dicks and make a show host do a very un-needed apology. Tisk tisk tisk - via Engadget

Google e-Book service launching this summer

Think Google is happy with just making public domain books available for e-book readers, free? - Well, that is not enough for those snazzy dressed employees at Google, who want to make it possible to let people purchase digital copies of books they find through Google’s existing book search service, and let book retailers sell Google Editions on their own site and retain the “bulk of the revenue.” Pricing details, publishers and other info are not out in the wild yet, but the new e-Book service from Google is planned to launch in late June or July. There will be a library of 400,000 to 600,000 books, with prices set by publishers.

Ten Reasons You Should Quit Facebook Now

Ten Reasons You Should Quit Facebook Now

Facebook is the worlds largest online community, and its going to stop at nothing to make sure everyone on the planet uses it. The Facebook team has declared war on privacy, and they are taking every ditch effort to make it impossible for you to keep anything private.

Nothing is private on Facebook, and even your “private” info is shared with applications and the company is not technically competent enough to be trusted as a way to stor your personal info - Read more

Principal - Middle Schoolers should NOT use social networking sites

Principal, Anthony Orsini, of Benjamin Franklin middle school located in Ridgewood, New Jersey isn’t down with social networking. Well, maybe not against social networking as a whole, but he does have some beef with it being used by middle schoolers. So much so that he recently sent out a letter to parents of his students, urging them to kick their kids off social networks because the dangers are too great; dangers like cyber bullying.

There is absolutely no reason for any middle school student to be a part of a social networking site!

Let me repeat that - there is absolutely, positively no reason for any middle school student to be a part of a social networking site! None.

The full letter to parents after the break!
