Squarespace launches iPhone app version 1.1 - Promo video by Brandon »
We will be uploading the promo video to Vimeo soon — but for now, check out the new promo video by me, Brandon Davenport, which I made for the launch of Squarespace’s new iPhone app version 1.1. I’ve been playing with the app for about a month, and I must say it’s a lot faster, and some of the new features like comment moderation, and editing mode synchronisation makes this a really compelling upgrade. It’s still free, so grab it from the app store today!

Let’s take a closer look!

Google Maps imagined by song lyrics
Google Maps imagined by song lyrics
Let’s say you were in Bel Air and needed to get to West Philadelphia. How would you look up directions? Google maps, of course! But for those of us in the pop culture-know then we have no need for Google since the directions are simple enough to remember right? Naturally, you’d get on “One little flight” and then “whistle for a cab” for 2,728 miles!

Smartphone sales now lead mobile sales »
“According to data from analytics firm Gartner, smartphone sales were up over 50 percent year-over-year for a total of 61.6 million units sold, with the top four OS vendors accounting for 91 percent of the worldwide smartphone OS market.” — Ars Technica
Sprint's Epic 4G Available August 31st - pre-order it now
Call me the Gordon Gecko of technology because Tech Never Sleeps! Early this morning Sprint sent word to all their loyalists that their own flavoring of Samsung’s Galaxy S Class of smartphones will be available August 31st, ladies and gentleman. Why on a Tuesday, I’ll never know. But what I do know is, thanks to Engadget, I was able to pre-order mine through a reservation link to Sprint’s website. Now this reservation link is only available to Sprint’s Premier customers but what’s the stop you from trying? Now, be prepared to drop $249.99 w/ Contract or if you are a phone junkie like me, $499.99 off contract. Looks like September is going to be nothing but ramen noodles and salt packets for me to pick up this beauty.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Officially $130 on AT&T
Right on track of yesterday’s countdown, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is now officiall coming to AT&T for a sum of $130. I guess this competitive price point makes up for the fact that it still runs Android 1.6, somewhat. With hardware clearly intended to compete with the likes of the DROID X, EVO 4G, and HTC HD2, it comes with a 1 GHz Snapdragon, 8 GB of memory, and a 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash. Now the pricing is actually pretty tricky: Sony Style is pricing it at $130, AT&T is pricing it at $150, and Amazon says, “Hey, we’ve got it for 50 bucks!” Bad move AT&T.

Someone created a Facebook "Meh" button »
From the department of “holy crap, why didn’t I think of this first”, The Atlantic Wire had a fantastic idea in which Facebook should add a “Meh” button. This is a neat idea because right now, we can either “Like” or “Dislike” our friends stuff, but there isn’t an official way to say “I don’t care ‘bout this”, but finally those crafty guys over at PubNub have created that very button, which you can install for free.
