iPhone iOS 4.1 Bug allows you to Bypass Lockscreen and Access the Phone App

iPhone iOS 4.1 Bug allows you to Bypass Lockscreen and Access the Phone App

This is not good for people who own iPhones, but it is fantastic news for people who don’t (and want to mess with those who do). Feel free to bypass the lockscreen to make a call or send an MMS using your friends iPhone (and their plan) without so much as a few quick button presses — it’s almost magical.

As you can imagine, Steve Jobs at this moment is suiting up (turtle-neck and the whole 9 yards) to kick some ass down in the programming offices at Apple HQ for letting this bug slip past development. In the end, this isn’t the worst that could happen… *knocks on wood*.

Lose your phone? Call it from your browser and find it!

This is when creativity and simplicity come together and have a baby — that baby’s name is awesomeness! — This fun little app will allow you to call your phone that you supposedly lost inside your couch, or play a prank on some friends (grab a scream ringtone, phone goes under their pillow… get the picture?). The app was developed by @davedawson , a designer from Brooklyn NY, and it was made free of charge just because he is a good guy. He says “This site is for entertainment and I will not spam you in any way.” and we believe that — This app gets the T3ch H3lp stamp of approval.

Podcast Ep. 8 - Don't record this, it's all fluff

This week on the T3ch H3lp podcast, we talk for a long time about a few topics, so lets keep this summary short — First we start off with gaming talk with Ricardo and Alex, discussing Fallout New Vegas and all of it’s crashy buggyness, and then Kirby’s Epic Yarn and why it should be called Kirby’s Epic Pants instead. Then we start talking about Apple junk.

Installing TypoPhone 4 for iPhone

Installing TypoPhone 4 for iPhone

This is a great mod for the iPhone that creates a really nice metro/WP7 look on the lockscreen, and gets rid of the glossy glass. We wrote about Typophone back in early September, and told you how to install it, but this is a much better way. This is sure to make your vanilla iPhone using friends really envious, and give you some geek points along the way — send us a screenshot once you get it up and running!

Sony's Cassette Walkman retires after 30 years

Remember when it was cool to have a hunk of plastic strapped to the side of your pants with music coming out of it? You’d have those giant headphones with the vents, and you’d be listening to the latest Queen album, or the new Thriller tape (for the 89th time), and you’d be amazed that music could fit onto a strip of film, inside a mini container. It seems archaic now, but back then it was your life, and your music.

Whoops - Google grabbed entire e-mails and passwords with their Street View cars

From the department of “can we try again?”, Google has publicly noted that among the fragmented data their street-view cars picked up via WiFi, whole URL’s, passwords and emails were among the data. The reasoning behind the street-view cars skimming your WiFi came down to a “programming error”, and since then nothing much has been said from Google — but now, things are getting a little more interesting.

t3ch Review - Able Planet EXTREME Noise Canceling Headphones

Your headphones say a lot about you. They say whether or not you like music or love music. And whenever you step out the door wearing over-the-ear headphones most people assume that you love music.  And that’s because they can see that you not only care about hearing the best sound but you also care about how you look too. Able Planet’s EXTREME Headphones line is both practical and stylish.
