Nexus One running Android 2.3 Gingerbread up for sale on Craigslist

If you lived in any place other than the Bay Area, you would most likely deem this as complete BS. But living in the Silicon Valley, I’ve learned a bit more about strange items for sale online. Today, we’ve got a Nexus One supposedly running Android 2.2 (aka Gingerbread). Now how the heck did this lucky fella get ahold of the unreleased OS? After contacting the seller, it turns out his brother works at Google and gave him the ROM as a gift. If everything turns out as planned, we should have a video preview of Gingerbread on this phone up on the site soon. In the meantime, $400 will admit you one Gingerbread running Nexus One if you live in the Bay Area.

The White iPhone 4 appears in Apples Store App

Updated on Oct 26, 2010 by Registered CommenterBrandon Davenport

Well, this is great news isn’t it? The white iPhone is here, and remember that black one you got? Yeah, you won’t be able to trade it in or anything like that, but for those of you that waited months, tirelessly for the white iPhone 4, you may commence jizzing your pants.

Late last night, Apple launched a new update to their Apple Store iPhone app, and while there wasn’t anything new in terms of features, it did contain something special — the ability to reserve a glistening white iPhone 4.

Heres what you need to do — Download the Apple Store app, and navigate to the “Reservations” tab, followed by “Reserve Product”. This will allow you to select a white iPhone 4 in either 16GB or 32GB configurations.

The device is clearly not available in Apples online store, but one thing is fore sure — the white iPhone 4’s launch day is getting closer, but this raises one question… are/were they waiting to release it on Verizon?

Note: user matthewyip on MacRumors states that when you try to select either 16 or 32GB option, it says “Because of high demand, we are not currently taking iPhone reservations.” nevertheless, the white iPhone 4 is now on the store, so something has to happen!

Blackberry Playbook hands on Demo - Video

I have to say, this Playbook looks like quite the device and the UI seems to be quite surprising for a number of reasons — it is really responsive, the animations seem to be smooth and the browsing seems to be usable. This is, from our knowlege, the first real iPad compeditor and time will tell if the Playbook can topple Apple’s throne.

Note: The video has a very low framerate, the Playbook just seems jittery.

iPhone 4, Android and Macbook Auto-Brightness Features are Useless

You know when you sit with your iPhone in the dark, and the screen brightness is still glaring when you have turned auto brightness on? It should be at minimum, and this goes the same with Android phones. It doesn’t make sense to have the auto-brightness on when it does nothing useful, and in the end renders itself useless — here’s how:

The Internet will reach 2 Billion users by 2011

This will be a milestone in technology history. The Internet had never set out to be a consumer network, it was instead designed and built for the army, businesses and the government. Fast forward a couple decades later, and we have this — a living, breathing network that flourishes with millions of websites, millions of videos and millions of people — and at the end of 2010, the internet will reach or surpass 2 billion users.

Did Digg game their own system? Was the algorithm a lie?

Updated on Oct 26, 2010 by Registered CommenterBrandon Davenport

“Clearly the above facts point the finger at digg with no one else as a suspect, however there is no concrete evidence to say that digg is 100% responsible, so I will only write to say that Digg is the one and only prime suspect here — Now that I am accusing Digg of something huge, I am going to give them a fair chance to explain their side until I publish this. However, I strongly suspect that data destruction might happen.”LtGenPanda
