Why Steve Jobs Needs to Become President - No, Seriously

America needs to focus on getting Jobs — Steve Jobs. Because something tells me that Apple would have come up with a better idea for stopping an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico than putting a giant box on top of it. In 2001, Apple reinvented the record player. In 2007, the phone. This year, the computer. I say, for 2011, we let them take a crack at America. Our infrastructure, our business model, our institutions. Get rid of the stuff that’s not working, replace it with something that does. For example, goodbye US Senate — Hello Genius Bar! So good luck, Steve — you’ll need it!”

This video caught me off guard too! Political pundit and comedian Bill Maher claimed last night that Steve Jobs would do a better job of running America than the Obama administration. This raises many questions, but more answers follow…

Don’t pre-judge this video by all means, you have to see that what we are doing as a country is not working! We want the “old-america” back and that is just not the mindset we need to take on. We need to stop looking into the past, and start moving forward, looking ahead, and stop “reacting” to change that happens in our world. We need to make the changes we want, and take control of our future.

It costs 2 cents to make a penny, and 9 cents to make a nickel - “we can’t even change change!” says Bill Maher. The only reason we are stuck in such a rut is because of our own lack of drive to keep innovating, argue the obvious and stand up for what we need to do, and what we need to do is change. We are failing at making America a better place, which we have been trying to do for decades, and that is why we need you Steve!
