Jesus Diaz - 'John Gruber is a Liar and an assclown'
I am going to enjoy this. Jesus Diaz has apparently snapped - along with everyone else at Gizmodo who think they are proper Journalists. Journalists don’t do stuff like this, but you know who does? People that lie about buying a stolen an iPhone, wreck a person’s reputation, and then act like a bunch of dicks as they slowly crumble into pilfering dust. Pathetic…
Yes, those are the words of either a 14 year old boy, whining about how he had sand kicked in his eye, or its the words of an “accomplished journalist” who just got told off by John Gruber, who then went on to call John an assclown. That’s pretty sad considering what this was all about, and how much of a small issue it was:
I’ve emailed Diaz, along with Gizmodo editorial director Brian Lam, but haven’t gotten a response. My simple questions:
Is Jesus Diaz currently in the United States? If not, where is he, when did he leave the U.S., and when is he planning to return? Lastly, what role, if any, did Diaz have in the purchase of the iPhone unit from Brian Hogan? Perhaps my source is a liar, and Diaz is sitting in the Gawker office in New York at this moment, or, if he is in Spain…
✪ - John Gruber
All John was trying to find out was if Diaz was in Spain, or in the US - that’s it. Now, why would Diaz head off to Spain? Well, as John puts it, “he decided to leave after California police acted on the warrant against his Gizmodo colleague Jason Chen, because he fears police will learn that it was he (Diaz) who set up the meeting with Brian Hogan for the purchase of the phone.”
Jesus Diaz is in fact in America, getting busy assuming things, and making up claims that John was pointing fingers. Jesus Diaz, if there is a single cell in your body that is capable of common sense, please use it. All John was doing was stating what he had heard, arguing it and then closing it up with a question, “Where is Jesus Diaz?”. He wasn’t trying to “start something” or finish anything either, he was just trying to keep his readers informed.
So, Jesus Diaz, I hope you hate being on the other side of the coin - the one that is face down and being rubbed into the floor (like you did to Mr. Powell) and that the image above (kindly re-created by @tremorx ) reminds you that in fact you are not a “journalist”, and that you need to re-think how you present yourself in public. Thank you for reading, have a great day!
