    Dell Thunder Previewed by Engadget

The lucky fellows at Engadget have gotten their paws on, not one, but two Dell Thunder prototype devices. If you can recall, these were the guys who got the scoop on a bunch of Dell mobile device leaks a while ago, including this Android 1.6/2.1 phone. Both missing back panels, the phones are specced with 1GHz Snapdragon QSM8250 processors, 800 x 480 and 1,280 x 768 standard LCD panels (under a curved glass screen), and 8 megapixel cameras with LED flash. At “EVT1” stage, both units are clearly far from production so this preview won’t necessarily represent final hardware at all. Still, I still highly recommend you check out the video and their walkthrough!

    Bose Releases New In-Ear Headphones - IE2, MIE2 and MIE2i

Bose is usually known for making fantastic products in the audio field and pricing them outrageously. Today, they are introducing 3 new pairs of in-ear headphones that break this rule. While no doubt the audio quality will be better than par, the IE2, MIE2, and MIE2i are priced at $100, $130, and $130, respectively. The IE2 are meant to replace the current Bose In-Ear Headphones and thus have no mobile functionality. The latter 2 have inline mics and controls as suggested by the M in their names. The MIE2 will replace the current mobile In-Ear Headphones. The “i” variant will be targeted towards Apple device using customers. None of the 3 are noise-cancelling. New StayHear tips coat the earbuds and come in 3 sizes, allowing the buds to fit properly in your ear unlike Bose’s previous offerings. As for availability, expect the IE2 and MIE2 to hit shelves on August 23 and the MIE2i later in October.

Nokia N9 Leaks, Looks like a Unibody Macbook

Hmmm. What have we here? Has Apple decided to make a Macbook Mini? Nah, it’s just a leaked Nokia N9. This slider appears to be just an N8 with a hardware keyboard. Funny how they decided to use a design so similar to Apple’s unibody Macbook Pro’s… It’s slated for a December launch and yet we have no idea what OS it will run, though closer screen examinations reveal an OS that appears to be MeeGo based. According to serial number checks, this prototype definitely originated from Finland’s factories. Check out some more images at the source link!

Pre-Order the Nokia N8 for $549, Get it End of September

Nokia’s new flagship device is here!….for pre-order. That’s right. You can get your hands on an unlocked N8 for a reasonable price of $549 (plus an unreasonable shipping price of $4 - $9). Though, I feel like Nokia has already failed with its Symbian and Maemo devices. Nokia certainly needs to start with a fresh platform that consumers will easily be able to use. It needs to have plenty of apps but first it just needs to be simple enough for people to know how to use from the moment they pick up the phone. All the top devices Nokia makes right now are for the hardcore phone enthusiast.

iFixit Splits Apart the Dell Streak

At this point, there is obviously no gadget that iFixit will not take apart and take pictures of. The Dell Streak has obviously been on their deconstruction list since it was first shown off at CES. Upon ripping off the nearly indestructible Gorilla Glass display, they found that the display was bonded to the LCD, thus raising the cost for a replacement if you happen to actually crack the glass. The heart of the 5” smartphone/tablet is an ubiquitous 1 GHz Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon. The rear of the device actual is rated a cheap and “deforms easily” though battery replacement is super simple and takes a matter of seconds. If you are interested in taking apart your own Dell Streak, you’ll be interested in knowing that it rates 8/10 on the iFixit repairability scale.
