Apple Online Store was Down, What Happened?

My Twitter stream: “OMFG the Apple Store is down!!!!” Time for wild guesses and speculations to begin! Has Apple finally figured out how to make a white phone? Maybe a new iTV? Or a new smaller iPad! What about that long overdue iPod touch with dual cameras? Okay, the last few are more unlikely as these are things ol’ Steve would want to show off to the world though a keynote but who knows? Anything is possible with a company that makes magical products!

Razer Brings Mechanical Keyboards to Gamers with the BlackWidow

When I hear mechanical keyboard, the image that immediately comes to mind is some old-school IBM keyboard going clickety-clack-clack. After 3 years of hard work and a week of teasing, Razer finally has the bragging rights for making the first mechanical keyboard designed for gaming. According to Razer, most mechanical keyboards out there today are “standard mechanical keyboards rebadged as gaming keyboards.”

Toshiba Libretto W100 Now On Sale for $1100

Toshiba’s dual-touchscreen Libretto W100 blew us away when we first laid eyes on it. And now the little wonder is available for purchase at a price of $1099. The owners club for this notebook will be rather small as only a limited run will be made. So what are the standard (and only available) specs? None of that Intel Atom stuff for sure! A 1.2 GHz Intel Pentium U5400 is at the heart of the 1.5 pound clamshell.

Other major components include 2 GB of DDR3 800 MHz RAM, a 62 GB SSD, Mobile Intel HD graphics (integrated), and dual 7” multitouch WSVGA LED displays. Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) is the bundled OS though Toshiba has its own crazy touchscreen interface going on at the same time. Webcam and 8-cell battery are standard but an external DVD drive will have to be purchased separately… if you can even get a Libretto W100.

Palm Pre Plus Out of Stock Online at Verizon and AT&T

Palm Pre. Out of Stock. Would you usually put those two words together? Last time I checked, Palm’s WebOS phones weren’t doing so well. And now it appears that the Pre Plus us out of stock on both AT&T and Verizon’s websites. We have no doubt Palm/ HP is working their butts off on a couple of halo WebOS phones at the moment in time for holiday season launch. Here’s a couple of tips Palm: First and foremost, make some new hardware! A couple of new killer devices wouldn’t hurt; the Pre and Pixi are old news now.

Eurocom Introduces Panther 2.0 Laptop, Blows Minds

Now, we’ve seen Eurocom make these uber-powerful workstation class laptops before but this time, the Panther 2.0 is just mind blowing. This time around, we’re looking at a desktop spec Intel Core i7-980X cranked up to 3.33 GHz, dual GPUs (your choice of ATi Radeon Mobility HD5870, NVIDIA SLI with two GeForce GTX 480M, NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M, or Quadro FX 5000M), 2 TB of SSD storage, 24GB of DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, and a HD 17.3” LED backlit display, among other goodies. Weighing in at 11.66lbs, the monster has no price tag yet but expect to pretty broke after adding this laptop to your cart.

BlackBerry Torch Only $99 on Amazon

We’ve always known Amazon for some pretty sweet deals on products - especially phones. This time, they’re bringing the newly announced BlackBerry Torch down to a more affordable price of $99. Just under two weeks old, the device would definitely be more reasonable at this new price point. Sporting last-gen hardware and a problematic interface, RIM might have faced some trouble competing with the top smartphones also with a $199 price point. Hardcore BlackBerry fans might be better suited with a Bold or Curve but by all means check out Amazon’s product page then make up your mind!

    DROID 2 Walkthrough Video

The DROID 2 is certainly a compelling device with all its fancy bells and whistles but Verizon just had to make sure you would buy their new Android set rather than say, an iPhone. So they hired this guy, Derek to walk you through all the features of the DROID 2. Now that I think of it, he rather reminds me of the way Billy Mays tried to sell us Oxyclean.
