Chart: Microsoft users click more ads than any other platform
This is why technology blogs are not making as much money as other sites, like game sites, or vacation sites. Think about it, you have the chart, you are scratching your head and looking for an answer. Look at it this way, what is the default browser on Windows? Internet Explorer. Now lets look at three types of people. The first type are people like Grandma and your rockin' Mom. They use whatever "gets them from point A to point B" -- speed, security and logic is not a concern. They cant tell the difference between an advert and an email. Click click click, BAM free vacation.
The next type of person is you, the guy/chick reading a technology blog, wondering why this is going on. You are probably using Firefox, and you are not afraid to throw a stick of ram in your PC, and of course, you know most of the ads are BS -- and you know that IE is BS too, so you switched to Firefox.
Then there is the other type of person, those of you who aren't afraid to be a little different (mostly web designers), you use chrome, opera or in very, very rare cases Safari on Windows (don't ask) and you know enough about the tech industry to even know that these browers even exist. Of course you are not going to click on those ugly ads.
What is even more interesting is that if you look at each OS, Windows till comes out on top in terms of clicking on ads. No explanation is needed here, it was taken care of in the first chart. IE is useful for something, money.
