Next generation iPhone may have a 5 Megapixel camera
Digitimes' slippery sources are claiming that OmniVision, the current manufacturers of the iPhone 3GS 3.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor, has been given a new contract to sign with Apple. It's to provide the iPhone with new sensors for the next-generation 2010 model, due sometime in the summer.
They say that the new sensor will be capable of a 5 megapixel resolution, which will get a lot of people excited. Also, they say that the number of sensors they will have to make is also going to increase from 20-21 million estimated this year, to 40 to 45 million CMOS for 2010.
