After 3 Years Twitter is Now Profitable Thanks to Bing and Google

Business Week is reporting that they believe micro-blogging giant, Twitter, may finally post its first profitable year for 2009 after striking deals with Microsoft and Google for "real time results" on their search engines. This'll gives the company the first sight of incoming "green" in the 3 years its existed; without paid services, merchandise, or even ads, Twitter has been floating on by with the help of nothing but venture capitalists' investments - which is estimated to be somewhere near $50 million total.

With revenue finally trickling its way in, could we finally see some new additions make their way onto the service? We've heard of the paid "premium" account idea, but we've yet to hear anything solid about it since then. People who find Twitter and stay on it love its simplicity and concept, but I'd stake that they wouldn't mind a few new features to add to the experience.
