What You Can Expect At Apple's Announcement Besides A Tablet

We are all excited to see what new things Apple reveals today and of course we are expecting a Tablet. But there are more things that should be announced alongside it that people have forgotten or just don't care about because of the Tablet. I predict a number of things including the Tablet, an updated Mac Pro, Macbook Pro, iPhone OS 4.0 and many things added to the iTunes store.

Mac Pro

The Mac Pro is Apple's high end computer that is typically used for creating super computers or for high end film production companies. The Mac Pro has been at the end of it's cycle for a while now and it should be updated any time now. I'm really not sure what else they will do to improve the device besides give a better processor and graphics card.

Macbook Pro

The Macbook Pro is also nearing the end of it's cycle and should include an array of new updates. I predict the battery life will be increased to some degree. Also the ram limit will be increased due to the 64-bit capability in Snow Leopard. I could also see more of the newer fire wire slots being implemented as well as the hard drive space increased to a max of 500 GBs.

iPhone OS 4.0

This will be very tricky especially since nothing has really been talked about due to the Tablet speculation. A few updates that might be included are the ability to control the settings when taking a photo, being able to run up to 3 apps at one time, Google Search being replaced by Microsoft Bing, and finally Microsoft Silverlight being implemented because of the non-existence to Adobe's Flash. Multi-flow for pages might also be something created due to many people having upwards of 15-30 pages of apps! I can barely deal with the 5 I have on mine! If Google Search is replaced by Bing, I pray that Google Maps remain because I think it will severely hurt Apple.

iTunes Store

Over the years the iTunes store has changed and now includes the app store but what happens if the Tablet is real? There are many things I can think of that will be changed simply with an introduction of a Tablet. First if rumors are true, the iTunes Store will include College level textbooks from all major companies specifically for the Tablet. If the Tablet is anything like the Macbook Air in a sense it has no disk drive, there is a huge possibility that you can purchase programs from the iTunes Store straight to your Tablet. Digital downloading of music was revolutionized by Apple as well as phone apps, Apple might be trying to start the standard of big time program downloading.

There have been many rumors and speculation on every aspect of the event today. Most have been about the Tablet so I don't want to focus on the device anymore until I see it. We shall see at 10am whether or not any of this is right, but I personally have a good feeling a lot of it will be.
