How To: Resize Multiple Images on Windows 7 (Vista and XP too)

Whenever you take photos in a digital camera you get images the size of small posters. It's all good if you want to make a small museum, but if all you want to do is post them up on Flickr or share them with your family and friends, then having to resize them can be a pain if you do them one by one.

Fortunately for you, however, I've stumbled upon a sweet fix that involves no software and minimal effort on your part to resize as many pictures as you want in no time flat. Here's what you do:

Get the Image Resizer Powertoy for Windows (free)

Download -- Windows 7 and Vista

Download -- Windows XP

Install the .msi file; it'll set itself nice and neat behind the scenes on Windows

Make a folder of all the images you want to resize and highlight them all together

Right click and select Resize Pictures

Select from the preset dimensions, or input a custom size* (in the advance settings you can choose to overwrite your originals or make copies)

Enjoy!

*Don't forget that you can only scale down without losing quality in your photos. Making a small image bigger will only make it look pixelized. And always remember to keep the aspect ratio so as to not make your image all skewed. You may want to experiment with different dimensions w/ Paint, Paint.net, or Photoshop.
