Acer's Smartphone Line up is bigger than ever before
So far this year's Mobile World Congress has left us with the delights of Windows Phone 7 Series, the HTC Desire, Legend, and HD Mini. Continuing along this trend, Acer today announced five new handsets; each ranging from the realms of Android to Windows Mobile 6.5.3.
Acer's new handsets after the break
Starting at the bottom of the range we have the beTouch E110, designed to compete with the HTC Tattoo amongst other things, it uses Acer's custom skin superimposed on top of an Android core. It boasts a QVGA display with 3.6Mbps HSDPA with the choice of 900 / 2100 and 850 / 1900 bands depending on where you live.
Moving up the scale we're given the likes of the neoTouch P400 and beTouch E400. To the perceivable eye these handsets seem exactly the same, however, as you delve deeper you'll notice that E400 runs Android and the P400 runs Windows Mobile.
Moving up the ladder, we're handed the neoTouch P300, slide out QWERTY keyboard. It appears to be a decent low range Windows Mobile 6.5.3 device, however with the announcement of Windows Phone 7 Series any 6.5.3 handsets from here on out are solely archaic.
Reaching the pinnacle of success we're granted Acer's top of the line handset, the Liquid e. In retrospect this handset is nothing more than Acer's original high end Android handset the Liquid. Given the once over, the Liquid e now runs Eclair (Android 2.1). Acer continues their trend of underclocking it's 1GHz processor for something albeit more battery conservative.
That concludes Acer's MWC handset line up, stay tuned for any information about these devices to come in the future.
