While you are on this snazzy site called T3ch H3lp, I want you to know that every pixel, and every blog entry would not be possible without Squarespace, and most of all, the Squarespace team. They make it possible, possible for a kid like me to start a fantastic blog, and become a news hub with the help of my excellent team of writers and editors.
Confessions of a Squarespacer
When I was about 12 I started to enjoy computers, and not just for the games, MSN, and MySpace - I started to get interested in producing content, and delivering it to people for them to enjoy. I started a Youtube channel and began uploading "how to" videos on things that people want to know, like how to speed up your internet browser.
After a while, I decided it was time to give my videos a name, and since I liked helping people with their tech issues I thought "T3ch H3lp" would be a good fit. After having uploaded about 80 videos, I decided to move in the the blogosphere, sharing my opinions and ideas with anyone I could. What did I choose? Wordpress. I liked it, but it felt so dry, so bland. Sure it had neat themes and add-ons but I felt as if it was missing something huge, something I could not put my finger on. Even now I still don't know what it is.
In 2009, I decided to pack up and head out to find T3ch H3lp a new home, but little did I know I would find it in the oddest of places. I was watching an episode of Diggnation and they mentioned Squarespace. My mind grapes we're blown and it was love at first sight, so I went to Squarespace and so began T3ch H3lp as we know in its current form.
T3ch H3lp Today
When T3ch H3lp and I had gotten settled into Squarespace, we were welcomed by a WYSIWYG editor and I loved it! Forget having to write a blog post by having to go into a control panel and going through a bunch of menu's and stuff. With Squarespace I can click a button on my blog and *poof* an editing window pops up.
Once all my content was imported, I realized I needed more and not having enough time to blog all day, I started a campaign to find new bloggers. You may know my first recruit, he goes by Ricardo and he is my right hand man and Senior Editor at T3ch H3lp. And this is what got the ball rolling...
9 Editors, nearly 1 million visitors, and 800 blog posts later, T3ch H3lp has become something amazing from truly nothing, bringing people together and letting us create stuff for those people. All this happening in a little over 6 months time.
I can't find words to explain what I feel about Squarespace, so I decided to spend all night drinking coffee and bashing keyboards creating this video for everyone at Squarespace and anyone who wants to try it out.
