Facebook Offices or Twitter Offices, where would you like to work?

Facebook is the king of social networks, and keeping people in touch, it always has been and we are starting to wonder if it will stay that way. With the advent of Twitter, Facebook is getting a run for its money. Some people prefer Twitter – some prefer Facebook.

We decided to take the social networking battle a step further and compare the brand new Facebook facility in Palo Alto, CA to the Twitter headquarters not far away in San Francisco, CA.

    Which do you prefer?

How to link your Facebook account and fan page with Twitter

Everyone knows that Twitter is an easy way to get your message out to hundreds of people, in just 140 characters. Twitter won the hearts of social media junkies because it is so simple and easy to use. The ability to customize your profile with cool backgrounds and iPhone, Black Berry and Windows Mobile apps everywhere, it has been really easy to take your thoughts, ideas, or stuff you found on the internet, and tell everyone!

Now, Facebook is the exact opposite. It's home page is filled with "news about friends", endless invites and piles of stuff to go through. "Billy just sent you a beer" "You have been invited to mafia wars" "Dylan wrote anonymously on the bathroom wall". Even though its bloated with stuff, it is a powerful tool to share everything, and anything with friends, family and the world.

What if you could put the two together and create 1 mega super duper fantastic web-app!?!?

    I will tell you how...

    Step 1

First you have to login to facebook, and twitter.

Then go to facebook.com/pages and create a page

    Step 2

Go to facebook.com/twitter (I never thought i'd see those words in the same URL)

Click "Link a page to twitter", and choose the page you just created.

Twitter will open and make sure you say allow.

    Step 3

Select what you want to be "Tweeted"

    Step 4

Load up your page by clicking the "Ads and pages" button on the bottom control bar.

    Then do a test tweet:

It will automatically tweet for you, and link to any pictures, video or links you attach

    Thats it!

So now you can reach a bigger audience and at the same time, keep up with all your tweeting and facebook... ing.

    Windows Live Essentials *Updated*

This update affects Live Messenger and ummm, whatever else is in the "Essentials" collection. Funny name - for them being named essential, I don't use any except messenger. Hmmm... but was the update necessary? Not really. Well, not for the applications other than Movie Maker and Family Safety. Ars Technica got some time in with Microsoft and wondered why all the essentials were given updated build numbers? This was their answer:

"...From a technical perspective, we had to update the build numbers since we were updating these two services." - Microsoft spokesperson.

    Wow. So what changed?

"Today, we announced the launch of an updated version of Windows Live Family Safety. Based on customer feedback, the newest version of Family Safety features tighter integration with Windows User Accounts and Windows Parental Controls. This results in a seamless login experience and enhanced reporting capabilities to help parents understand what their kids are doing on the computer and online. We have also made enhancements for web browsing such as locking Safe Search for children and helping them find sites designed for kids with http://fss.live.com/kids. These updates will make Windows Live Family Safety easier for parents to get started, and it's easier for them to keep their kids safer online."

I don't have kids, and I certainly don't use movie maker... sooo does that mean I update for no reaosn? And here I was thinking I was getting new far out features for messenger. Like that'd happen. On that note, what sort of IM software do you think is the best?

Jame Cameron's Avatar gets teaser - "should've sent a poet"

There's been a lot of buzz surrounding James Cameron's latest film, Avatar.

AVATAR takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of actual production work, AVATAR delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.
