Amazon finally shows off its new tablet, 'Kindle Fire' for $199
It’s been talked about for months now, Amazon’s myterious tablet which could bump heads with the iPad if done correctly. Well, today the veil has been lifted and the ‘Kindle Fire’ has taken its first breath out of from under the covers and people are liking what they see; a $200 machine with media capabilities, web surfing, and all with the Kindle name that’s gotten nothing but love from everyone from mom’s to celebrities.
Amazon’s 7-inch Kindle Fire is the perfect competitor to Apple’s iPad, as it comes with a smaller form factor, but lacks all the bells and whistles that really aren’t necessary for the casual consumer (microphone, camera, 3G connectivity). A Wi-Fi model is the only choice at the moment, but ‘Fire’ owners will get a free 30-Day trial.
