Legend of Zelda: 4 Swords available now as free download for all DSi, 3DS owners

For everyone who’s gotten the ten free NES games for their 3DS, here’s another free title to add into the mix. Announced at E3, The Legend of Zelda: 4 Swords Anniversary Edition is a not just a mere port of the original Gameboy Advance title, but a newly revised version with new stages and features exclusive to this DSi release.

While originally a multi-player only game when first released as an add-on to A Link to the Past on GBA, this new version will also host a single-player mode that allows the player to control two Link’s simultaneously.

The Legend of Zelda: 4 Swords Anniversary Edition will be available for free download for all DS, 3DS owners throughout the year, until February 20th, 2012 — afterwhich it will become a paid download.
