Audyssey announces Lower East Side Audio Dock Air with AirPlay for Novemeber

Audyssey is a company that has failed to disappoint the Okay Geek staff with its stellar line of iPhone compatible audio products. And today, they’re adding a new member to the already impressive lineup. The Lower East Side Audio Dock Air (not to be confused with the Lower East Side Media Speakers) will be available November this year.

Following the Audyssey South of Market Audio Dock and Lower East Side Media Speakers, the Lower East Side Audio Dock Air adds one of Apple’s newest technologies - AirPlay streaming. You’ll notice that the front of the dock no longer has the standard 30 pin dock connector. That’s because the LES Audio Dock Air is all wireless (it’ll be compatible with your computer, Apple TV, iPhone, iPod Touch. or iPad). But don’t let that give you the impression that audio quality will be sacrificed. By combining Audyssey technology and passive bass radiators, the dock is able to achieve low frequency reproduction that rivals subwoofers.

‣ Two 1-inch tweeters
‣ Two 3-inch midrange woofers
‣ Two 4-inch passive bass radiators

‣ Audyssey Smart Speaker audio technology
‣ 3.5 mm line input
‣ 3.5 mm headphone output
‣ Weight 5 lbs

Audyssey’s Robb Mason claims, ”AirPlay represents a huge step forward in the pursuit of wireless audio and we believe our Lower East Side Audio Dock Air will please even the most discerning listeners. Our Smart Speaker technology enables us to generate audio output that’s simply not attainable by other manufacturers – we’re confident our new dock will outperform any comparably priced AirPlay dock on the market.

Although the press release we received mentioned an MSRP of $399, we’re told the LES Audio Dock will have a price tag closer to $349 when it goes on sale in November.
