Audyssey announces Lower East Side speakers for Q3 this year

You may remember that a while back we reviewed an iPhone speaker dock called the Audyssey South of Market Audio Dock. Today, Audyssey is lifting the covers off of their brand new sound system for consumers, the Lower East Side Media Speakers.

The South of Market Audio Dock was an impressive looking and sounding speaker dock for iPhones. So what’s so special about the Lower East Side? This set of speakers features a digital output so that you can easily hook them up to an Apple TV and play some tunes over AirPlay. With a design inspired by New York’s Lower East Side, you’ll definitely want to display them prominently on your desk.

Specifications

  • Two .75” silk-dome tweeters
  • Two 3.5” woofers
  • Two 4” Passive bass radiators
  • Audyssey Smart Speaker audio technology
  • Digital optical audio input
  • Analog 3.5 mm line input
  • 3.5 mm headphone output
  • Easy access volume control
  • Automatic standby mode

Pricing and Availability

If you read our review of the Audio Dock, you might recall that we said it was a great dock but the cost was a little too high. Audyssey is making the Lower East Side more accessible to consumers at a price point of $199, when the speakers launch in third quarter of this year. We certainly can’t wait to get our our hands on a set to try out! For now, you can check out Audyssey’s product page to learn more.
