BMW bringing iPod Out functionality to new cars with revamped Apple UI

Once again the Germans have outdone themselves — maybe not as much as their French holiday in 1940, but still. BMW is announcing that their in-car iPod compatibility function will soon be updated to take support of iOS 4’s iPod Out feature. In other words, your GPS system (or as it happens in most BMW’s your in-car-dashboard) will be able to replicate Apple’s iPod UI. At the moment it looks as though it’ll only be available to new Beamers, but either way, we’re beginning to wonder how useful this’ll actually be.
