Books in the Age of the iPad - Defined by Content

The book industry feels like its dwindling in a gigantic growing digital age - which seems to be towering over the old-school publishing companies who rely on the public to walk to the book store, take the time to stand, pick out a book and take it home only to read it once and have it sit on a shelf. In this editorial, you will discover the changes that need to take place are not in the company's business models, or the devices and platforms we view them on - it's the content.

Video - HP Slate can run Flash and AIR - Close your mouth iPad

Just when we thought all was well and the iPad would solve world hunger, HP and Adobe make a five and a half minute long passive aggressive remark to Apple and the iPad in general. The video simply shows the HP Slate running Flash, but that alone could be the breaking point in Apple's iPad consumer base. Not only that, but the HP Slate is capable of running AIR - which is a brand new development platform that powers a lot of the lightweight apps we use, like Blu and Skimmer.

iPad doesn't have some of the iPhones default Apps

Most of us love the iPad and iPhone - but when Apple pushes out this beautiful new device, and decides not to put any effort into optimizing some of the iPhone's core applications for the iPad, it makes us say "what the hell Apple?" -- I mean they took away the Stocks, Calculator, Clock, Weather and Voice Memo Apps all because of what?

Rumor: Sony Playstation Phone coming in 2010?

BoyGeniusReport is throwing out a Wallstreet Journal rumor that Sony is making some sort of conflabbit contraption that wants to compete directly with not only the iPhone, but also the Windows 7 phone series, and the upcoming iPad.

Ok - what?!

Does Sony really think they have what it takes to craft something so well it can go up against not only Microsoft but also Apple?

Are they going to be counting on their line up of old PS1 games to make their rumored device a must own? I seriously don't know what Sony has up their sleeve but I think they have one hand too many in a number of cookie jars; Focus on what exactly you want to do with the PSP and PS3 systems before you decide to make a phone out of them.

Official iPad commercial Debuts at the Oscars

And we are back to the iPad - with a really wicked commercial made by Apple which debuted at the 2010 Oscars, which explains why Steve showed up there. It is 30 seconds of exciting footage of the iPad in action paired with the song "There goes my love" by The Blue Van.

We also made an ad for Apple because we like the iPad enough to sit in front of a computer for 2 hours piecing together our own masterpiece. We used the song "Moar Gosts n' Stuff" by Dead Mau5.
