Twitter is taking its first baby steps into making some actual money with some brand new business plans - which include very discrete (and surprisingly relevant) advertisements.
You may know these as “Trending Topics”, but Twitter has finally realized that this tiny list at the bottom of your sidebar is basically the pulse of what people are talking about. Interestingly enough, you will now find pleasantly relevant “promoted” trending topics in your sidebar…

Twitter has put some major work into making this beautiful FIFA 2010 homepage for you to oogle at. This seems much better than Google’s updates, and its done with the simplest interface possible. Very cool - Check it out!

Twitter has launched a new “Places” feature which works in unison with Foursquare and Gowalla to allow you to assign a location to your tweets, and then sort tweets by location (which only makes sense).

We have been waiting for this! - Ya’ know all those short URL’s? Yeah, they can be a bit confusing sometimes, for example: not being able to determine where you’ll end up (that can be a bit scary!)
Twitter is doing some major updates to its link-posting system, allowing end users to see where all those links go, and also allow Twitter to aggregate information from what you click on, to serve you more relevant ads. Very, very interesting - (click the title to view story)

I think a part of my brain just melted - Computer Science Laboratories (CSL) Inc has developed a liveblogging device for Mr. Sprinkles, which is your kitty.
The new toy comes tricked out with a camera, an acceleration sensor and full GPS, which monitors Mr. Sprinkles every activity, translating things he is doing like walking, eating and sleeping into full blown tweets.

Twitter has now launched a much more advanced “Help Center”, with the aim of it being focused attention on specific issues that users have. The Help Center is run by a large group of support staff, and is available in a multitude of languages and seems to adapt to your specific needs.
