Google plans to move Google voice iPhone app, to the iPhones browser, says David Pogue

With its native Google Voice application rejected from the iPhone App Store, the software maker is planning a full-featured Web application in its place.

Revealed by David Pogue inThe New York Times, Google's alleged Voice Web application is said to be the "next chapter" in the ongoing dispute between it and Apple.

Already, Google says it is readying a replacement for the Google Voice app that will offer exactly the same features as the rejected app -- except that it will take the form of a specialized, iPhone-shaped Web page," Pogue writes. "For all intents and purposes, it will behave exactly the same as the app would have; you can even install it as an icon on your Home screen.

He goes on to question: "What is Apple going to do now? Start blocking access to individual Web sites?"

On Friday, Google declined to comment on Pogue's column. However, the news reaffirms the browser abilities alluded to in comments from a Google spokesperson last week.

We work hard to bring Google applications to a number of mobile platforms, including the iPhone," the spokesperson toldAppleInsider. "Apple did not approve the Google Voice application we submitted six weeks ago to the Apple App Store. We will continue to work to bring our services to iPhone users, for example by taking advantage of advances in mobile browsers.

Weeks ago, Apple rejected the Google Voice application, and pulled two programs that used the Voice service from the App Store. AT&T has denied responsibility in the incident, but it, Google and Apple are under investigation from the Federal Communications Commission over the matter.

Twitter being used to start and feed Ddos attacks

As news trickles in about the events in Iran, where apparently students are protesting the results of the elections and the government is cracking down on media outlets and journalists, there are DDoS instructions being posted to Twitter. The targets of the packages include:

Pagereload.com is evidently a way to get your browser to hit a site. The service is owned by someone in Karachi, Pakistan. LOIC is Low Orbit Ion Cannon, another Denial of Service tool. Another tool being linked to is BWRAEP, a GET flood tool, with a list of image files to grab from the above sites, causing the web servers to fail.

Meanwhile the brilliant folks at Renesys have posted a chart of network outages in Iran that are probably feeble attempts by the government to restrict Internet access.

While Twitter is not contributing to the action in the street (it is blocked in Iran by most reports) it Is being used to spread this type of cyber crowd sourced attacked.

This just goes to show, how powerful twitter is. One of the most famous actors in the world, has become a Tech-Savvy Gentlemen because of twitter and the impact of the "Twitter shock factor" of having 912, 000 (yes nine hundred and twelve thousand followers) in a matter of less than 5 months!

Twitter has become a Huge media hub for celebrities to give on-going, die-hard fans a look into their (believe it or not), almost normal lives. OMG they walk their dogs, who knew!?!?

Also twitter made a post on their Blogger.com blog about the video, from CBS's youtube channel:

David Letterman was introduced to Twitter viaKevin Spaceyon last night's Late Show. Once Dave got past the concept of typing with his thumbs he was able to characterize Twitter as "a waste of time." That's generally how Twitter was characterized in 2007 so Dave's only two years behind—we'll give him a little more time to catch up.

I was searching for this recently and found something cool, How to have a "Main" post or the most recent post, with compact, "mini" older posts under it, sort of like digg. I have implemented it into the site. Enjoy!

Its great for blogs that have 5 or more entries a day.
