Google's Long List of Social Networking Attempts

Google has been known as the “search engine giant” for a decade and way back in 2003, Google decided they wanted to be something more than a “search engine”. In fact, 2003 was the year Google gobbled up Blogger and Friendster and the year after they absorbed Orkut and launched Gmail in private beta. We can all agree that Google is not perfect when it comes to creating or buying services, but there have been a few milestones like Youtube, Gmail and Google Docs along the way. Mashable’s Zachary Sniderman has put together a really interesting look into the long list of Social Networking attempts by Google.
