Guy gets Knifed in Counter-Strike Game. Hunts and Stabs the Other Person

So there’s this guy, and he was playing a round of Counter-Strike with some friends - and during the game, he found himself getting into a knife fight. He did what anyone would do, fight till someone wins, but when he lost, he snapped and decided to go out on a manhunt to find and kill the real person who knifed him in Counter-Strike…

After days of planning, 20-year-old Julien Barreaux spent six months tracking down the virtual killer, planning to do something irreversible. He grabbed a real kitchen knife and eagerly paid the new found “enemy” a visit, and he was planning to kill him, obviously.

Out of luck, Julien’s knifing skills were worse in real life than in-game, and he missed his enemies heart by an inch. If he would have hit it dead on, the guy who won against him in-game, would have died.

Judge, Alexiane Potel, said a few words to sum up how dangerous Julien is, and how unbearable it would have been for the guy he stabbed to have died, for no reason.

You are a menace to society. I am frankly terrified of the disproportionate reaction you could have if someone looked at you the wrong way in the street.

Julien Barreaux has been submitted to some anger management therapy, along with being sentenced to 2 years in prison. My question is, what affect will this have on our society’s outlook on violent video games, and will this just fuel the fire of banning video games that “warp our minds”?
