Insta-Great! - Instagram galleries on your desktop

For too long has Instagram remained just an iPhone app. I think it’s about time we get access to the thousands upon thousands of beautiful imagery taken by people just like you from our desktops, and guess what, I think Insta-Great thinks so too!

Designed to be both minimal and eye-catching, Instegre.at is a chic way to browse through what’s currently popular on Instragram. Created by Elliot Kember and Hector Simpson, No windows or tabs are necessary to navigate through the webapp, just left and right scrolling by means of single clicks on corresponding photos.

If you want to get deeper, simply mouse over the image of your choosing and you are then presented with various information; such as which filter was applied to the image, when it was taken, and who was the artist behind it. Upon selecting a user, a second row of images pop up, displaying a full gallery of photos taken by that person. And since the site doesn’t run on Flash, if you really fall in love with an image you see, you can right-click and save as.

To navigate back to where you started from, all you gotta do is click at the top where the titles are displayed; the starting point being “Popular Photos”. It’s a smashing way to look at Instagram in a whole new way, and we’re hoping we see more of these applications as technology progresses to allow anyone to become an artist.
