Intel Canoe Lake prototype gets some face time

So we’ve seen some pretty tiny thin ‘n lights in our day, but Intel’s Canoe Lake prototype surely takes the cake. Announced during today’s PC Client Keynote, Intel took the time to discuss its latest “innovative platform,” Canoe Lake. Okay, so it looks fairly impressive, after all they’ve managed to jam pack a computer the thickness of an exercise book with enough hardware to effectively play 720p video content. By-the-by it’s impressive, we’ve said it once, but there’s really no other way of getting around it. Clearly we weren’t the only one’s who felt it was significantly impressive, after all Engadget managed to arrange some hands-on time with device, and lets just say, they liked what they saw.
From what they’ve gathered, this prototype device was made entirely in-house at Intel as a way to sell their, new, wonderful, delicious product to computer manufacturers. Apart from the sheer awesomeness of this device, they learned that that it contains a GMA 3150 GPU — hence the platform being able to handle high-def content — and its also packing a 10-inch display (rather standard on netbooks when you think about it). That’s all we know at this point folks, and that’s likely all we’ll learn about Intel’s mystery prototype. But since ‘Canoe Lake’ devices aren’t due to start shipping for quite some time, how about you hit that green button (the rewards will be magical, trust us).
