iOS 4.3 for iPad loses multi-finger gestures

So much for all the hubbub about the next iPad losing its Home button; Apple confirms that the 5 finger multitasking gestures seen in on the iOS 4.3 developer release won’t be included when the update goes live to the public. Well, that was a bit anti-climactic now wasn’t it?
Apple has notified developers that the aforementioned multi-finger features; such as quick switching between apps, and returning to the home screen without need of the home button, will not be making their way onto when iOS 4.3 is available for mass download:
This feature will not be enabled in iOS 4.3 for customers, but we are providing this preview to gather input on how these gestures work with your apps.
Kinda makes us wonder what all the fuss was about? But hey, blogs wouldn’t have things to write about if we didn’t get the occasional jump of the gun now would we? At least it kept us entertained! Though, I doubt this will be the last time we hear of these features.
