3DS will be missing a few features at launch; Internet Browser, eShop, DSiWare Transfers
Nintendo’s latest handheld may have everything you’ve ever wanted in a portable gaming machine, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be all packaged in at the same time. For some features touted at yesterday’s Press Event, you’re going to require a few system updates.
According to a Press Release sent out by Nintendo, more than a couple of features will be needing extra fine tuning before being released to the masses.
Internet Browser:
An upgraded Internet browser will also be available via a system update.
Nintendo eShop:
The Nintendo eShop, through a system update, will offer access to downloadable games, including Nintendo DSiWare™ and ones specifically made for Nintendo 3DS.
DSiWare transfers:
Using a service that will be provided after the hardware’s launch, Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™ owners will be able to transfer games downloaded from the Nintendo DSi Shop onto their new Nintendo 3DS systems.
My guess is as good as yours as to when we’ll see these services activated, but I have a feeling that we won’t have to wait long before we get our hands on a couple of classic Gameboy titles. Did anyone say Pokemon Red and Blue versions?
