MacBook Air Torn Down by iFixit - Really, Really Hard to Open

And the results are in from iFixit! The new 11 inch MacBook Air scores a low 4/10 on the repairability scale. Why? Because Apple specifically made sure people weren’t screwing around with their laptop. Yeah we’re referring to the 5-point Security Torx screws the company used to hold the unibody laptop together. Some noteworthy omissions include the IR sensor, battery status LED, and flip open port door (the latter allowing for an extra USB port). The RAM and storage drive are all proprietary so don’t expect any easy self repairs - you’ll be taking this one back to the Apple Store — More over at iFixit
