Nike teasing upcoming release of self-lacing shoes from Back to the Future 2

We’ve all seen them, and if you haven’t where have you been for the past 20 years? Nike’s self-lacing shoes from Back to the Future 2 have been the stuff of dreams for a whole generation of geeks. Well, Nike might make those dreams come true if a new viral marketing video is saying what we think it’s saying. The original prophecy from the movie was that we’d see these kicks in 2015 — however, we’re still 4 years from that… but that doesn’t seem to matter to Nike.

NiceKicks.com were the first to post information on this, as they were the first to receive a special package in the mail from Nike themselves about a special event being held tomorrow — something that could “change the course of time”.

Within the box that they received was a recognizable pair of steel glasses that were wore by none other than the Doc from Back to the Future 2 wore when traveling back from 2015. Also of interest was what was on the iPod Shuffle that they also received, which included a special message spoken by the Doc himself (Christopher Lloyd):

“Welcome to Los Angeles. If my calculations are correct, over the next 24 hours you are about to see some SERIOUS SH*T!””

A video has also surfaced online which can be traced back to Nike showing off what appears to be shelves filled to the brim with hundreds of Nike Air MAG’s (the official model name), otherwise known us to as a Marty McFly’s shoes from Bttf 2.

More information will undoubtedly be leaking toward us within the next day or so, but we’ll be the first to let you know once we go back to the future — “Gotta go back in time!”
