Nintendo's 3DS Release Date, Price, and Software Line Up Revealed

Nintendo’s 3DS certainly did seem quite promising when they showed it off back at E3. And now we’re closer than ever at getting a chance to actually play on one. According to Nintendo’s Japanese Press Conference moments ago, the 3DS will be shipping in Japan starting February 26th, and March for the US and UK.
Expect a price of around ¥25,000 ($298 for American’s) for either an aqua blue or cosmos black 3DS at launch.
More magically, perhaps, is that you can generate Mii’s using the built in front-facing camera. You can even edit it in the Mii Studio right on your device! You can merge photos and when you’re all done, move them to your choice of an included SD card or as a QR code. Using the QR code you can drop your avatar right into the Mii Plaza on your console. Now here’s the real shocker - it can multitask. Ya hear that Apple? All you have to do is hit the home button, then “boom” you can quickly switch between apps. And the fun never stops with this handheld as you can go retro and play your favorite Gameboy classic’s in its own Wii-like virtual console.
Not only is the hardware something to marvel at but the software that the Big N and its compadre’s have lined up is nothing short of amazing. Prepare to be blown away by anything but casual games…
Mega Man Legends 3, Super Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil Revelations, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: 3D, Star Fox 64: 3D, Paper Mario, Professor Layton, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Super Monkey Ball, Animal Crossing, and Mario Kart 3D just to name a few.
